Currently, Molyneaux is exhibiting a series of mixed media paintings. In these works, the artist continues to explore her fascination with surface texture, pattern and pasted images. Layers of paper are alternated with ink, paint, pastel, and pencil. Between each layer, sanding and applications of acrylic medium are applied to arrive at a dense patina. The result is a surface dynamic that references the past and evokes ancient plastered and frescoed walls.
