Peter Roux was born in Port Jefferson, New York and received his Master of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from the Massachusetts College of Art located in Boston, Mass. While at the Massachusetts College of Art, he was Teaching Assistant in "Life Drawing and Introduction to Painting", and Faculty Assistant on Board reviews. From 1997 to the present Peter has been an art Instructor at the Chelmsford Public Charter School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Since 1983 his work has appeared in a number of exhibitions, including the 1995 Huntington Gallery exhibition in Boston and the 1998 Fall Salon, Cambridge Art Association, Cambridge, Massachu-setts. He was recipient of the 2D/Painting Honors at the Massachusetts College of Art and also received the Chancellor's award at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Peter's work in recent years has its origins in landscape and in his fascination with environment and atmosphere. He sees his work "as being about creating visual spaces that define a sense of place and our relationship to it, and less about actual recognizable locations".
