Dorothy Rissman received her BS degree from Wichita State University in 1980 and continued graduate studies at Wichita State through 1983.
Since 1984 when she presented her art in a group show at the Staples Memorial Gallery, Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas, her work has appeared in over fifty group and solo exhibitions. Among her solo exhibitions are shows at the Chiaroscuro Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ and Santa Fe, NM in 2001-02, the Mackey Gallery in Denver, CO in 1995 and 1997, the Bentley Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ in 1994-95, and the Udinotti Gallery in San Francisco, CA and Scottsdale, AZ in 1992-93-94.
In 1998 her work was shown at the Space Tag Hauer in Tokyo, Japan.
Dorothy work is included in collections at the Phoenix Art Museum in Phoenix, AZ, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Scottsdale, AZ, the Nelson Art Museum, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ and in the Nordstrom collection in Seattle and nationwide, just to name a few.
